Environmental Management System
ISO 14001:2015

ISO 14001 is an internationally recognized standard for environmental management systems (EMS). It specifies the requirements for an EMS and provides a framework for organizations to develop and implement policies and procedures that take into account environmental concerns and meet applicable regulatory requirements.

The ISO 14001 standard was first published in 1996 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and it has since been revised twice, in 2004 and 2015. The latest version of the standard, ISO 14001:2015, places greater emphasis on the context of the organization and its stakeholders, as well as on risk management and continuous improvement.

To become certified to ISO 14001, an organization must undergo an external audit by an accredited certification body. The audit assesses the organization’s EMS against the requirements of the standard, and if the organization meets those requirements, it is granted certification. Certification is typically valid for three years, after which the organization must undergo a recertification audit to maintain its certification.
